The
#1S railing profile is well suited as a wall railing for narrow staircases
do to the railing's small width and the low profile make it very easy
to get a firm grasp on. If this handrail is made in paint grade wood
and then painted, it will visually blend with the wall and not distract
if a clean uniform look is what's required.

Stair Railings: The #2 handrail style is a slender low railing profile
in a traditional style. It is suitable for use with our 1 1/4" balusters
and does well in areas where the charm of a traditional railing is desired
but the scale of the area is not sufficient to use a double height profile.

The #2xl railing profile can be used to give a grand traditional look
to your railing while maintaining a low profile. The width of the railing
gives it presence and works well in a larger scaled area. When this rail
profile is used in a smaller scaled area the effect can be both dramatic
and ornate. The width of this railing profile can also be customized to
produce a railing cap suitable to go over knee walls obtaining a widths
of 6"+.

When
one is asked to describe a traditional railing for many the image held
in the minds eye tends to emerge as a description of our #3 handrail style
which is a favored classic railing profile designed for an elegant setting.
A banister using this double height railing profile, paired with our Grand
Newel posts and plain 1 1/4" square balusters exudes warmth, charm
and begs to be wrapped
in garlands during the holiday season.

The
#4 handrail style tends to be favored for an oak railing or pine railing.
It is a substantial railing profile with rounded details that work well
for a country or modern décor. This double height railing profile works
well with most of our baluster styles though is not recommended for use
with the more ornate Standard-#1 balusters & posts. This railing profile
looks particularly nice with our Provincial, Fenmar or Square posts &
balusters.

The
Path-L handrail style is truly a grand victorian railing profile. The
railings generous proportions and lavish details exemplify a classic victorian
style. Elaborate "one off" large scale grand newel posts turned
or square combined with 1 3/4" turned or square balusters really
sets the look of this railing off.

| The
# 5-R railing style is a smooth compact vertical railing profile which
lends itself to designs ranging from traditional to contemporary through
to modern. Railing systems using this profile are uncomplicated and clean
in line & form. Paired with wood, glass, stainless steel or cabling
for balusters, this wood railing will mellow an austere presentation as
only wood can.

The #5L staircase railing style
is a
tall stair railing profile with minimal
detail. The large vertical exposed surface is wonderful
at accentuating the curve of a circular staircase or landing rail of a
curved floor opening. This railing style is well suited for residential
railing systems & commercial railing applications.
